Essential Oils and Skin Cell Regeneration

Did you know, the skin is the largest organ in your body?  Regardless of age or gender, everyone collects scars over the years from cuts, burns, surgeries, etc.

Essential oils have been used for centuries to help heal skin conditions, enhance beauty products, speed healing times for wounds, reduce or eliminate scars, and assist in regenerating skin cells.  Therapeutic grade Essential oils, when applied topically on the skin, can reach every cell in your body within 20 seconds!  Not familiar with essential oils and want to learn more – check out this blog post.

The number 1 essential oil for skin care, known for its regenerative properties, is Helichrysum. This oil comes from a daisy like flower of an herb.  It is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and has been known to increase collagen production, relieve skin rashes, and speed the wound healing process.  Lavender essential oil also promotes wound healing and helps reduce the appearance of scars.  Lavender is especially great to use for cuts and burns.

Carrot Seed essential oil is wonderful for improving skin tone, skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles, and great for DIY sunblock protection!

Rosemary essential oil comes from the flowering top of the herb. Most people use it to cook with, it’s great with lemon chicken dishes, but it’s also a wonderful oil to use for the skin as it provides soothing and pain relieving properties. Rosemary essential oil can be added to fash washes, masks, toners, and creams to keep skin hydrated and glowing. You can blend Rosemary essential oil with some coconut oil, or another carrier oil, and use on scars or marks daily and watch them fade away!

If you have unwanted scars or marks, try essential oils instead of buying over the counter creams that are expensive and may or may not work!  A few drops of essential oil mixed with a carrier oil will go a long way when applied topically. Essential oils can help reduce and fade the appearance of scars and blemishes, help regenerate skin cells and tissue, and create a new layer of healthy skin.
